Indiana’s District IV Superintendent of the Year

Mooresville Consolidated School District Superintendent Named IAPSS Superintendent of the Year for Dist. IV

MOORESVILLE, IND – September 25, 2023 – Randy Taylor, superintendent of Mooresville Consolidated School Corporation, has been named 2024 Superintendent of the Year for District IV by the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents (IAPSS).

Winners are selected by other superintendents in their district who consider the qualifications and accomplishments of area colleagues and their instructional leadership.

Taylor firmly believes fiscal responsibility and educational excellence are not mutually exclusive; instead, they are interconnected.

The district has optimized funding opportunities to use various bond programs to update all schools and support facilities in the past 15 years. The district’s school buildings range in age from 52 to 97 years. Even with the upgrades, the district has maintained its low tax rate and updated programming in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) – related fields.

Taylor says: “By fostering the common bond we have to better the lives of our community’s children, we have been able to create partnerships with our local Redevelopment Commission for enhanced educational spaces; with local companies to provide education and internships for skilled trades students; with local non profits to provide assistance for students in need; with local foundations to provide mental health supports for students and staff; and with emergency services agencies to employ best practices for school safety.

District IV includes Benton, Clay, Fountain, Greene, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Tippecanoe, Vermillion, Vigo and Warren counties.
